Dear Susan,
Hi there! Your Blog has totally overwhelmed me…in a good, amazing way.
First I am Jennelyn Thompson’s Mom. I live in Ashcroft, B.C. Jenn told me about you and how much she enjoys hearing from you and reading your Blog. I just wanted to say hi to you and after checking just a small amount of your blog…the different parts of it, I am in awe…no wonder you are tired! You have put so much work into this “The Great Balancing Act”. I got tired just jumping around looking at the various parts, pictures, recipes etc.
And you have such a following! This is like a full time job. I can see you are an extremely loving, warm, and passionate woman ( really to me you’re a young girl…I was trying to be respectful, but I am a Mom first and my heart breaks for what you and Jenn and so many others are facing and dealing with). But as with Jenn, I am very proud of you…it is not just attitude, but your whole being. Between your family, friends, writing and reading, you are extremely busy.
So I am not going to keep you, but just wanted to say hi and that I am thinking about you and your family. As terrible as was to learn that Jennelyn has Hodgkin Lymphoma, I know she is going to get through this (We are very thankful for the high success rate…effective treatments) and that she is going to grow as a person through this experience. Already she is learning to have patience, and handle the waiting periods by being prepared with other things, becoming so much more educated about cancer, other diseases, treatments, drugs, wigs, support groups, and meeting wonderful people like yourself. I think she has just become so much more aware of everything. And I hope through all of this Jenn will realize what she really wants to do in life. She is young and who knows which way her choices in life will go…ha, probably back to Miami! But I think life is so much more valuable, meaningful to her now. Just like all of us when we realize how short life can be. I know I try to be more aware…let the little things go, not worry about things so much, and appreciate what is in front of me.
Bye for now Susan. As Jenn can tell you I am not much of a computer person…I always learn the slow hard way…I get there eventually but always wading through frustration first.
I am just hoping this reply will find you. I am not a Follower yet, so I don’t know it this will get to you or not. Oh well I might just have to ask Jenn to get your phone number and call you! That would be fun….and hey, a couple of times I read your comments about family “staring” ….just remember they love you so much and want to help but sometimes just don’t know what to say…and they don’t want to say the wrong thing and piss you off! Bye for now, Debbie
Lol, don’t mind my Mom Susan! She enjoys writing mini novels. It’s one of the reasons I love her so much :)
